According to a Indian Epic Poem Ramayana, written in Sanskrit around 1000 of years of ago states how Rama with the help of army of Vanaras ,built a bridge of stones across the sea to lanka to rescue his wife Sita from Asura king Ravana. The Climate of Srilanka is tropical and warm which is an excellent Condition to house world’s largest biodiversities. We can reach Srilanka from India in 2 Hours 30 Minutes by Air. There is no time difference between Srilanka and India. Sri Lankan Rupee is their official unit of Currency. People usually speak in Sinhala,English and Tamil. The months from October –March serve as best months to visit Srilanka for families and friends.
Days 1
Arrival in Sri Lanka: On arrival, you will be represented by our representatives and will be transferred to Chilaw, Visit Muneeshwaram Temple. After winning the battle, Lord Rama was returning to Ayodhya in Ravana’sCarriages, he felt that he is being followed by brahamaasthidosham as he killed Ravana who was a Brahmin, later he stopped the carriages and asked lord shiva for remedy. Lord Shiva blessed Lord Rama to get rid of the dosham and install four lingams since then people flock to this temple for the blessings. Thereafter proceed to Mannavari Temple. (Approximately 20 Minutes’ Drive) Manaweri Temple. * The first lingam called Manaweri installed and prayed to by Lord Rama and this lingam is also called RamalingaShivan.
Days 2
Breakfast at the hotel/ Transfer to Sigiriya: Evening Visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress Morning Visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress A“UNESCO World Heritage Site” and perhaps the most fantastic wonder of the island. Also known as the Lion Rock because of the huge lion which stands tall at the entrance of the Palace. Water Gardens, Summer houses and Boulder Gardens and the caves within that area should not be missed. And Visit Ritigala. Overnight stay at Sigiriya.
Days 3
Breakfast at the hotel: Proceed to Trincomalee. Visit ThiruKoneshwaram temple built by sage Agasthyar by the instructions given by Lord Shiva who was impressed by the devotion of King Ravana. This place is unique for building a temple for his devotee as a reward for his devotion. To get rid of the BrahmaasthiDosham. Lord Rama offered his prayers during his return. Return to Sigiriya. Overnight stay at Sigiriya.
Days 4
Breakfast at the hotel: Kandy – The Hill capital. Visit Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic – Famous for the Buddha’s tooth which was brought hidden in Orissan princess hair, the artifact has grown in holiness in Sri Lanka, and also considered most prized possession on Srilanka. Evening visit Cultural show. Overnight stay at Kandy.
Days 5
Breakfast at the Hotel: Transfer to Nuwara-Eliya.En-route visit Hanuman Temple in Ramboda. Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple, Ramboda.Ramboda hills are famous as Hanuman was searching for Sita Devi on these Hills, the Chinmaya mission of Sri Lanka built a temple here with Hanuman as the presiding Deity. In the evening visit Sita Amman Temple, the area where Sita, Queen of King Rama who was abducted by Ravana the king of Srilanka.NuwaraEliya is famous for Sita Amman TempleA charming Temple with the sculpture of Rama, Sita, Lakshman, and Sugriva. This temple is supposed to be the only temple dedicated to Sita in the entire world. The stream flowing by the side of the temple is the famous spot where Sita went for bathing. Overnight stay at Nuwara-Eliya.
Days 6
Breakfast at the hotel: Visit Ashok Vatika (Hakgala Botanical Garden): Known to be one of the pleasure Gardens of king Ravana. This is the place where king Ravana kept Sita insisting her to marry him. It is the same place where Sita met Hanuman, who gave her the news by giving her the ring that Rama is looking for her.Then proceed to well-made Visit Diurumpola (Agnipariksha Place) Visit Ravan Cave and Ravana Fall in Ella Return to NuwaraEliya. Overnight stay at NuwaraEliya.
Days 7
Breakfast at the hotel: Transfer to Colombo. Visit Kelaniya Temple (Vibhishanatemple )&Anjiniyar Temple. Proceed to a city tour in Colombo with shopping. Overnight stay in Colombo.
Days 8
Breakfast at the hotel: Transfer to Airport for your journey back home.
